The Full Story

It’s a pleasure to meet you virtually!

I’m Erikka Kneeland, and this is my husband, Shawn Kneeland, along with our wonderful family. My journey started long before I fully understood the path that God had laid out for me. I was adopted as a child, which made my upbringing unique, and as a teenager, I navigated the juvenile system until I aged out. Throughout my adolescence, I faced significant challenges with ADHD and behavioral issues stemming from trauma, often feeling misunderstood and overlooked by those around me.
At the age of 23, I began working with adults on the spectrum and those with various disabilities. It was during this time that I truly discovered my calling, something that had been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Helping people has always filled my heart. Even as a child, I found joy in supporting others in residential homes, guiding them through the tough emotions of being away from home, lending a compassionate ear, and genuinely understanding their feelings.
Every person I have worked with has left a lasting impression on me. I became someone they could rely on, a familiar face they could turn to from the beginning to the end of each shift. This deep love and compassion for those often left behind is something I am passionate about sharing with the world.
This is why we created Sensory Park, a welcoming space not just for children but for parents too, regardless of their backgrounds, cultures, or walks of life. Here, we can all come together and embrace our unique ways of expressing ourselves. Welcome to a community where everyone can feel at home.

Isaiah 58:10
If you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness.
